TaperØff helps you stop vaping your way. It's support, not medical treatment.
It's for adults 18 and over.
Counting your puffs and Cold turkey are free. TaperØff Plus is a paid subscription through Apple or Google.
You can cancel Plus at any time in your Apple or Google account.

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use the TaperØff app and this website (together, "TaperØff"). By using TaperØff you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

If you got TaperØff from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.

TaperØff is provided by Slipstitch Limited ("we", "us"), and "you" means the person using the app. You can reach us at quit@taperoff.io.

2. What TaperØff is, and isn't

TaperØff gives you tools and information to help you stop vaping. It is a wellbeing tool. It is not a medical device, it doesn't diagnose or treat any condition, and it doesn't replace advice from a doctor, pharmacist or stop smoking service.

Talk to a doctor or pharmacist before stopping if you're pregnant, have a health condition, or take medicines.
Nicotine figures in the app are a rough guide, based on the strength on the label.
If you feel unwell or worried about your health, contact a doctor. In an emergency, call your local emergency number (999 or 112 in the UK and Ireland).

If you vape to stay off cigarettes, the NHS advises only stopping vaping once you're confident you won't smoke. TaperØff isn't designed to help you stop smoking tobacco.

3. Who can use it

You must be 18 or over to use TaperØff.

4. Your account

You don't need an account to use TaperØff. If you make one, you sign in with Apple, with Google, or with a code we email you. An account is for one person. Keep access to the email address and the Apple or Google account you sign in with, because that is how you get back in.

You can delete your account at any time in the app (You → Account → Delete account) or by writing to us. Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription: that is done in your app store (section 7). We may suspend or close an account that is used to break these terms or to harm the service or other people, and we'll tell you why unless the law stops us. We may delete an account that hasn't been used for 24 months, after emailing you first, as the privacy notice explains.

5. Your data and sync

What you record is yours. It lives on your phone, and on your watch if you use one. If you turn on sync, a copy is kept on our servers so your devices stay in step and a new phone can restore it. Sync is optional, and the privacy notice explains what we hold and why.

We work hard to keep synced data safe and available, but sync is not a guaranteed backup. You can export a copy of your data from the app at any time.

6. Free, and TaperØff Plus

TaperØff is free to download, and building a plan costs nothing. The free version is yours for good: counting your puffs, going cold turkey on a set day with its vape-free clock, Breathe with me, your journey so far, Learn, local help, and exporting your data. If you stop paying, your plan waits where it is and picks up again when Plus is back on. Nothing you've logged is hidden or deleted.

TaperØff Plus is the plan to zero (Taper down, Breaks from vaping or Easy mode) and the tools that come with it, as listed on the pricing page and in the app. It is sold through the App Store and Google Play in two ways; the yearly and 3-month plans come with a 7-day free trial:

Yearly and 3 months. If you're eligible, the first 7 days are free. Then it is charged once a year, or every 3 months, by your app store until you cancel. On the App Store, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or the period ends.
Monthly. No free trial: charged today, then every month by your app store until you cancel. On the App Store, cancel at least 24 hours before a month ends.

Unless you cancel before a free trial ends, your app store charges the price of the plan you chose when it ends, and again each year until you cancel. Apple and Google decide who is eligible for a trial; usually it is once per store account.

Annual, Weekly and Lifetime (no longer sold). Until 10 October 2026, Plus was also sold as Annual and Weekly subscriptions, and until 9 October 2026 as Lifetime, a single payment with no renewals. If you have one, it carries on as before: a subscription renews on its own terms until you cancel it, and Lifetime stays yours for as long as we offer TaperØff. Restore purchases brings any of them back on a new phone.

The price, and how often it renews, is shown in your app store before you buy. Prices can differ between countries and stores. If we change a subscription's price, your app store tells you before the new price applies, and asks for your agreement where its rules require it.

The app reminds you 2 days before a free trial ends, and emails you too if you're signed in. It also reminds you 2 weeks before each yearly renewal. If you're signed in when you buy, Plus works on any phone you sign in on, iPhone or Android.

7. Cancelling and refunds

Cancel a subscription in your app store's subscription settings; You → Plus → Manage subscription takes you there. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel it. After you cancel, Plus carries on until the end of the period you've paid for, then the app keeps working as the free version.

Payments are taken by Apple or Google, so refunds are too: ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, or Google through your Google Play order history. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

8. Plus through an organisation

You may get a code from us, or from an organisation such as an employer, a university or a stop smoking service.

A code gives you Plus for the length of the programme, up to 52 weeks, at no cost to you. You don't need to enter a card. It ends when the programme ends, or earlier if the organisation withdraws it.
To use a code, you agree to share how your quit is going, without your name, as the privacy notice sets out. The organisation sees only totals for groups, never you. If you stop sharing, the free Plus from the code ends, and you can carry on with the free app or buy Plus.
A code is for the person it was given to. Please don't share or sell yours.
We can end a code that's been misused.

9. Using TaperØff fairly

Use TaperØff for yourself, for its purpose: helping you stop vaping. Please don't copy, change or resell it, and don't try to break its security, overload it, get at other people's data, reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows, or use it to harm anyone else.

What you add (your reasons, your photos, what you log) stays yours. You let us store it only to make the app work for you. The app, its name, its look and its articles belong to Slipstitch Limited, and you can use them while you use TaperØff.

10. Availability and changes

We provide TaperØff with reasonable care and skill. We can't promise it will always work without a break, or that it will help you stop, because every quit is different. The app works offline; sync, sign-in and programmes need our servers. We may change or retire features. If a change significantly affects something you pay for, we'll tell you in advance, and if we stop offering Plus you can get a refund for any period you've paid for and won't receive.

11. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Otherwise, we're not responsible for losses that weren't a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms, or for decisions you make about your health.

12. Ending things

You can stop using TaperØff at any time. Cancel any subscription in your app store, delete your account in the app, and erase what's on your phone (how to delete your data).

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app first. If you don't agree, you can stop using TaperØff and cancel Plus.

13. Law

These terms are governed by the law of Northern Ireland, and the courts of Northern Ireland can hear any dispute about them. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can still rely on the consumer protections of the law where you live, and you can bring proceedings in your home courts in England and Wales or in Scotland.

If you live outside the UK, including in the United States, these terms don't take away any protection that the law where you live gives consumers and that can't be set aside by agreement.
