What your people get

The full TaperØff Plus, paid for by you and free to them: no card, no trial to cancel, nothing to buy. It runs for the programme year.

The plan

  • Taper down: a daily number of puffs that steps down to zero, one tap to log
  • Breaks from vaping: breaks through your day that get a little longer each day, until you stop
  • Easy mode: make each pod last a little longer, down to your last one
  • A heads-up before your hardest hour, with your own plan for it
  • Patterns: the times and triggers behind your cravings
  • Clear the air, and go-tos that open your apps
  • Quick logging: log a puff from Siri, Apple Watch, Back Tap or the Action Button (iPhone)

And everything that's always free

  • Count your puffs: tap the ring, see today's count, your last one, yesterday and your usual. No line, no target, no quit day
  • Go cold turkey: set your day and a vape-free clock counts up from it
  • Breathe with me whenever a craving hits, with your own reasons
  • Your Journey so far: vape-free days, milestones and badges
  • NRT and stop smoking medication, set once
  • Learn, and free local help where you live
  • Export of everything you've logged

No ads, no trackers, and we never sell data. It works without an account, offline.

What you see

A dashboard of totals for the group: seats used, how many enrolled and are active, how many were on, near or over their line each week, milestones reached, and what people answered at each check-in.

Counts below 10 show as “fewer than 10”, and the rest are rounded to the nearest 5, so no one person can be picked out. Download as CSV.

An example, not real results. The layout and categories are the real dashboard's. The numbers are made up for a 100-seat employer six weeks in.

What participants share, if they agree

  • Once a week: whether they were on, near or over their plan's line
  • Which milestones they reached, such as quit day
  • Their answers to short check-ins at day 30, quit day, and 4 and 12 weeks after
  • If they stop using the app, the reason, from a short fixed list

The list is closed: the server accepts nothing else. Stopping is one tap and deletes what was sent.

What you never see

  • Names, email addresses, phone numbers or accounts
  • Puffs, cravings, times of day, or the reasons people wrote down
  • Anything about one person: there is no per-person view, and no way to ask for one
  • Any figure covering fewer than 10 people

If someone backs up their own log, that copy is theirs and is never part of a report.

How it works

  1. You choose seats

A seat is one person on your programme for a year. Buy a pack, or a licence for your service. We invoice you; there's no card and nothing to install.

  2. We set you up

We create your organisation and send your first access code. Each code comes with a printable QR poster for a staff room, clinic or noticeboard. Make more codes yourself, one for many people or single-use.

  3. People join in the app

They scan the poster or type the code. Before anything is shared, the app shows exactly what you'll see and asks them to agree. Plus is then theirs for the programme.

  4. You watch the group

Sign in to your dashboard with a link sent to your work email. See seats used and how the group is doing week by week, and download it all as a CSV for your own reports.

Privacy and compliance, for your IG team

What's in place today, and what isn't yet. If something here doesn't match what you need, tell us before you buy, not after.

Roles under UK GDPR
We are the controller for what participants choose to share with us. You receive aggregate counts only, suppressed and rounded, which we treat as anonymous statistics rather than personal data. Ask, and we'll set this out in writing.
Consent
Participation is voluntary. Sharing is asked for in the app before a code unlocks anything, uses its own consent, and can be stopped with one tap without losing the plan. Stopping deletes every report that person sent.
Where the data lives
Cloudflare, in its EU jurisdiction, encrypted in transit and at rest. Reports are sent under a random enrolment number, never a name.
Retention
Programme reports are deleted 90 days after your programme ends.
Small-group protection
Any count under 10 shows as "fewer than 10", and every other count is rounded to the nearest 5, so a figure can't be narrowed to one person by comparing it from week to week.
Dashboard security
Sign-in by single-use email link, valid for 15 minutes. Sessions last 12 hours. The dashboard runs no scripts at all.
DPIA
Drafted, and being finalised for sign-off. Ask for the current version, along with our record of processing, retention schedule and supplier list.
NHS DTAC
Self-assessment in draft. We haven't yet appointed the Clinical Safety Officer that DCB0129 requires, and we'll tell you where that stands when you ask.
Certifications
We don't hold Cyber Essentials or a DSPT submission today. If your procurement needs either, tell us early.
What TaperØff is
A wellbeing tool, not a medical device and not medical advice. It points people to free NHS and local help.

Questions buyers ask

Can we see who has joined?

No. You see how many seats are used, not by whom. Every other figure is a count for the group, and anything under 10 is hidden.

What if only a handful of people join?

Then most of the report will read "fewer than 10". That's the protection working, and the bigger the group, the more of the report you'll see.

Do participants need an account?

No. The app works in full without one. If they make one, they keep their place in your programme when they change phone. Their own log, if they sync it, is theirs and never part of your report.

What happens when someone leaves our organisation?

Their seat stays counted. They keep using the app for the rest of the programme year, and can stop sharing whenever they like.

Can we run separate codes for different sites or teams?

Yes, as many codes as you like within your seats. The report covers your whole organisation, so splitting it into small groups would only hide more figures under 10.

What do people who used to smoke need to know?

The NHS advises stopping vaping only once someone is confident they won't go back to cigarettes. The app says so too, and points to free NHS help.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes, both. We're launching in the app stores now; ask us about timing for your start date.

What does the evidence say?

Honestly: the research on helping people stop vaping is young, and we don't claim more than it shows. Our evidence page sets out what is known, including where it runs out.

Start with an email

Tell us your organisation, roughly how many people you'd like to offer it to, and when you'd like to start. We'll come back with a quote, and set up your dashboard, codes and posters once it's agreed.
